NAME: Dittmar District Park, Pool and Recreation Center
LOCATION: 1009 W. Dittmar Road, Austin TX 78748
DISTANCE: 3.55 miles (more or less depending on where in the neighborhood you run).
HOW TOUGH?: there is one hill on the Neuro campus that is a bit tricky, but otherwise pretty flat.
HOW PRETTY? the Neuro campus is very pretty with large, shady trees, and winding roads, and Dittmar Park itself is pretty handsome, however, the surrounding areas are fairly mediocre.
TYPE OF PATH: gravel, sidewalk & asphalt
DOG FRIENDLY? For running: Yes For playgrounding/splashing/swimming: Yes at the playground, but not the pool
PLAYSCAPE FEATURES: Towering two-story tunnel and open slides (may be tough for the littles to access) Faux boulders to climb Huge shade tree with seating underneath Musical instruments (drums, xylophone) Treehouse with seats and a small table Toddler swings Turtle to climb on/jump off
BATHROOMS (BECAUSE POTTY TRAINING HAPPENS): Very nice. Air conditioned and well-lit. Inside the recreation center, however, so bathrooms are only available during rec hours.

EXIT THE PARK VIA THE SOUTH EXIT (OVER THE BRIDGE), MAKE A RIGHT. CROSS DITTMAR AND ENTER INTO THE SERVICE ENTRANCE FOR THE NEURO CENTER. FOLLOW THE MAIN ROAD AROUND IN A CIRCLE THROUGH CAMPUS AND THEN ARRIVE BACK ONTO DITTMAR, TURN LEFT AND THEN RIGHT ONTO PALACE. TURN LEFT ONTO GREAT BRITAIN, TURN LEFT ONTO 1ST, TURN LEFT ONTO DITTMAR. 3.55 MILES
