DISTANCE:
4.75 mlies
HOW TOUGH?:
5 Bats, no doubt. The hills are glute-tastic!
HOW PRETTY?
Very pretty rolling hills. The homes are beautiful and you get to peek out onto Town Lake for a bit as well. City, Residential and Wooded. Win-win-win
TYPE OF PATH:
The mean streets of ATX, sidewalk and trail
DOG FRIENDLY?
For Running?: As long as the pooch stays close by, you're good to go.
For Playgrounding?: perhaps not in the splash pad, but there is a large field perfect for playing catch.
PLAYSCAPE FEATURES:
bucket swings & regular swings
sand digger
several shape and color games
3 slides (one is currently fenced off for repairs and expected to re-open early 2016)
various poles for climbing and sliding
bridge
PLAYSCAPE SURFACE:
Small pebbles
Recycled Tires
BATHROOMS (BECAUSE POTTY TRAINING HAPPENS):
One-stall wonders, but close enough to the splash pad that accidents can be avoided.
PARKING:
Street parking only. Can get a little crowded (and hilly).
EXTRAS:
This splash pad stays open later in the year than most splash pads (most pads close when school resumes)
The splash pad opens at 9am
Both the splash pad and the playscape are shaded by giant canvases
Drinking fountain
Close enough to several restaurants that you can grab a meal after your run (or rest in the middle because those hills are tough)!
