Here is the cliché blog talking about the importance of setting goals and dedicating a year to reach them.  Let's talk about how making a list of goals that will improve yourself and your life   Taking a moment of quiet meditation to visualize 2018 will make you a healthier, more centered individual.  I’m not one for quiet medutation, I do however take a moment to jot down a few goals I have for 2018.  The only time I have for my own thoughts is at 11:23 pm when I’m trying to fall asleep.  It seems like the best time to have earth-changing ideas.  Since I can’t sleep, Ill share with you what I would like to accomplish in 2018.


Personal:
  • Be more present in my day to day life/take time to enjoy the small, precious moments in life.
  • Not be a slave to social media.  It's not real life anyway  
  • Spend more one-on-one time with my parenting partner/more date nights
  • Have special dates with my elder daughter, I never seem to have enough time with her now that she’s in kindergarten
  • Watch how I talk to those I love.  
  • Not take my self so serious

Running Goals
  • 20 miles a week
  • 100 miles a month
  • 1,000 miles a year
  • Run the Decker Half marathon
  • Get out there and enjoy running
  • Focus on breathing and form
  • Add in core work
  • Cross train more often   
  • Not take myself so serious

Just in case you cannot think of any ways to improve your already perfect self/life, here are a few friendly suggestions:
  • Eat more chocolate
  • Eat more veggies
  • Drink more water
  • Drink less wine
  • Play more outside
  • Do one nice gesture for a stranger a day and don’t tell anyone
  • Have more sex
  • Watch less TV
  • Read a book
  • Start a hobby you’ve always been interested in
  • Learn a new skill
  • Cook more
  • Eat out less
  • Set aside personal self  care time each day, if only for 5 minutes
  • Be less judgmental
  • Be more patient with your children
  • Do one spontaneous thing a day
  • Detox from social media
  • Laugh more
  • Eat less sugar
  • Try a new restaurant  
  • Get outside your comfort zone
  • Do one scary thing a day
  • Register for a 10k, half marathon. Marathon
  • Trail run
  • Road run
  • Register for a race out of state
  • Run a new route
  • Invite a new friend for a run
  • Cross train
  • Do core work
  • Try a new workout class
  • Invite a friend to a new class
  • Run stairs
  • Buy a nice piece of workout gear/clothes
  • Go on a run date
  • Run with a stroller
  • Run without a stroller
  • Run without music
  • Run without a GPS


However you choose to live out 2018 please remember one thing, make it an EPIC year.

    LOREN M Central IL born and raised attempting every sport possible. Mom to 2 polar opposite kiddos and wife to a man she met on an airplane, her magic Mike. Throw in a white lab with too many allergies to count and you have yourself a fine fam. Loves pickles, green olives and is a (temporary?) vegan.  Took up running in order to eat french fries on a regular basis (they're vegan, right?). Mizzou grad. Skincare junkie and waxing Nazi. The Queen of random encounters. To all the TWT members: Don't hate, just Belieb ;)
